Brickell is an urban neighborhood of Greater Downtown Miami, Florida. Directly south of the historic CBD, Brickell is Miami and South Florida’s major financial district.
It boasts the tallest building in Miami, the nicest hotels and some great eating options. In addition, it’s home to many young professionals who have embraced the urban live/work/play concept and even to some celebrities. It’s pedestrian friendly and also has a free trolley system as well as a metrorail/metromover station making the city super user friendly.
At the center of Brickell is Mary Brickell Village a happening spot for many locals and tourists with boutiques, restaurants and many times entertainment. There is also historic Brickell – first physician’s office in Miami 1904, the sacred Tequesta Indian burial grounds by the Viceroy hotel and the Brickell Mausoleum at the Brickell Park built in 1921. It lies south of the Miami River making for some picturesque walks/runs. Brickell Key is connected by a bridge and is another great spot for runs; my personal favorite.
There are two major Health Clubs (LA Fitness, LA Sports Club), two CrossFit Gyms, and several small parks (dog walkers, one with an outdoor basketball court).
Surrounded by Little Havana, Biscayne Bay, Downtown Miami and Coral Gables, Brickell is a great location to live and or work.
